This was made using lots of half square triangles. Even the string block is half square triangles! This was a baby quilt for my niece that was born in December!

The Number One Engine
I bought this pattern off of etsy. It wasn't meant to be a Thomas quilt, but I changed the original up a little. It was harder than I thought it would be. The original pattern was easy, but changing it was a pain! This first picture is me being annoyed at my husband for taking the picture :)
And now we have Thomas!
I didn't put a face on him because I wasn't sure exactly how to do it without it being too weird. Again, I need to get some pictures of it quilted!

Way Behind
Time to play catch up on the quilts, I guess. This quilt was also made last August. I really need to get photos of them after they were quilted. The colors were a little weird on my camera. The orange has more pink in it in real life. Still, it was a fun one to do. I got the pattern from Quilter's Cache and it's called "Mini Bow Tie"

Princess
The next quilt was pretty simple... except for the sashing. That was kind of a pain, but I felt like it really gave it a nice look. Again, the quilt is on point and I really love it that way. My niece is a fan of all things Princessy, pink and purple. So hopefully she will love this!

Giant Star
I really love the 2nd quilt top I made this month. I'm actually thinking of whipping out a few of these bad boys as Christmas gifts for my son and a couple of his high school buddies in their school colors!
I added the borders on the top and bottom to make it a little longer. Without the borders it's 68" square. I found the tutorial for this quilt here. So much fun and so simple to do!!

Disappearing 9 Patch on Point
I've decided to use this as my quilting blog. I am figuring out how to piece quilts and make my tops look a little better each day. I wish I could promise lots of amazing pictures and awesome quilts, but I'm a pretty simple kind of gal and my photography skills are seriously lacking. So, bear with me here!
Let's start with the quilt I made for my Baby Girl.
Let's start with the quilt I made for my Baby Girl.
Apparently I didn't get a picture after I had actually sewn all the blocks together. Sorry about that - I'll blame it on mommy brain! This is just all the blocks laid out on the floor waiting to be put together. Anyway, this is a disappearing 9 patch on point. I had a friend teach me the pattern, but you can learn about it here. The inspiration to put it on point came from here and the tutorial for putting it on point was here.
I will post a picture of it after I get it back from being quilted! Super excited to see how it turns out :)
I'm going to try to post once a week with the quilt tops I finish. We will see how that goes. Wish me luck!
